Eugene "GeNie" Baffoe is a freestyle dancer, DJ, MC, educator, choreographer, and actor originally from Montreal, Québec based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Training, teaching and studying Hip Hop Culture for nearly 2 decades. As a grass roots cultural organizer in the City of Winnipeg since 2011, GeNie has brought his community several dance battle events such as DANCE 4 MS, The Artist Within, Who’s the iLLEST, BeatMakeUSDance, You Got Stylez and More. He has choreographed 2 CLF halftime shows, 3 opening sequences for WeDay, and was selected to be 1 of 2 Canadian choreographers to create the Sharing Dance flash mob style routine for Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2018. As a DJ, GeNie has mixed tracks all over North America in events ranging from but not limited to Cultural gatherings, Parties, Festivals, Weddings and dance battles with his signature "Trans-Canada Highway Jam Tour". Honoured by the City of Winnipeg with the Youth Role Model Award in 2009 and a CBC Future 40 under 40 finalist, GeNie is a dedicated artist passionate about his community who continues to educate the Culture through dance, gatherings, and music production. |
