Making Wishes

The idea of me becoming a Dance teacher, and MC and even a DJ were never on my childhood bingo card. What I do for a living now is miles away from what I originally thought was destined for me. From the age of 7 to 12 my dream was to become a commercial airline pilot for Air Canada. I was mesmorized with Planes, the pilots, the cockpit, the buttons, controls, options and on earth they used all of those gadgets together to make this thing fly. Wow. Well upon the introduction to Algebra in grade 7 and the sheer level of struggled I faced with the kind of math I could no longer with my fingers I felt I needed to find something else. Turns out, dancers only count until 8 and DJ count until 32 at the most... Sign me up!

In all seriousness that definitely wasn't what drew me to this passion I currently have. There a million reasons I am infatuated with the artforms I partake in. But in relation to my origina passion...I realized not too long ago. I really like pushing colorful buttons that make people move. Be it those on DJ set up or figurtive buttons that help events and moments soar. My wife would call me in love with control... and yes there is some of that.. but I like to think it's more a love for knowing what to do when and seeing it come to life in seconds. That joke on the mic that lands, that song choice that turns up the party or that move that wows the crowd. There is nothing like it.
